Software RIP |
In a Postscript printer, the part that interprets the Postscript language is called RIP (raster image processor). RIP integrated in the printer is called Hardware RIP; that in the PC is called Software RIP. In Hardware RIP, the image data is imported into the printer, while in Software RIP the image is created in the PC. Both are for Postscript printers. |
